Iran Rebar Price Today | Steel Market Cools but Billet Costs Stay High

Iran Steel Market Changes Direction as Rebar Prices Ease but Billet Costs Remain High
The Iran steel market on October 17, 2026 is showing clearer signs of cooling after the sharp price increases recorded during the first half of October. More mills are now keeping rebar quotations unchanged or reducing prices, suggesting that buyer resistance has increased at current levels. تجارت نیوز
Latest Iran rebar prices today show Nishabur 16 mm A3 rebar at around 103,180 tomans per kilogram, Anahita Guilan 14 mm at approximately 105,450 tomans, Ghaem Razi 12 mm at 106,450 tomans and Kaveh Tikmehdash 12 mm near 109,180 tomans. تجارت نیوز
The latest quotations suggest that the rebar market has entered a consolidation and correction phase after the rapid rally seen earlier in the month. Limited liquidity and weaker end-user demand are making buyers more selective.
Iran Mercantile Exchange data reinforce this view. The latest reported rebar transactions for October 14 showed an approximately 2.1% decline in the average rebar price, providing one of the clearest signals that the previous upward momentum has weakened. Vana News
Structural steel is showing a similar trend. Esfahan Steel’s 16 beam is currently quoted at around 119,090 tomans per kilogram, while Faico 14 beam is near 107,272 tomans, with several products showing softer prices. Vana News
However, a major obstacle to a deeper decline remains steel billet prices in Iran. The latest published billet transaction data showed a weighted average of approximately 87,477 tomans per kilogram, around 9.6% higher than the previous week, with almost the entire offered volume sold. Chilan Online
High billet costs create a production-cost floor for rolling mills. Even when construction demand weakens, mills have limited room to sharply reduce finished rebar prices unless upstream material costs also decline.
Earlier October transactions also showed that around 99% of common construction rebar supply was absorbed on the exchange, with the weighted average reaching 104,580 tomans per kilogram. This suggests that underlying procurement demand remains present even as buyers become increasingly price-sensitive. EA Investment
Another factor influencing the market is the Iran Mercantile Exchange decision to raise advance-payment requirements for DRI, billet, bloom and many rebar and beam products to 100%. This measure is designed to manage demand and reduce excessive bidding pressure. Chilan Online
The Iranian iron and steel market is therefore caught between weaker downstream demand and persistently high upstream costs. This makes further limited corrections possible, but it also reduces the likelihood of a rapid price collapse.
For the coming sessions, the key indicators will be Iran rebar price today, steel billet prices, beam prices, Iran Mercantile Exchange activity and currency movements.
Overall, the market appears to be entering a new price-discovery phase rather than a confirmed bearish cycle.
