Iran Rebar Price Today | Steel Market Enters Correction Phase

Iran Rebar Rally Loses Momentum as 80,000 Tonnes of Steel Hit the Exchange

The Iran steel market on October 12, 2026 is entering a new phase after the sharp price increases seen earlier this month. Most rebar quotations are now stable or slightly lower, indicating stronger buyer resistance to elevated price levels. تجارت نیوز

Latest Iran rebar prices today show Kashan 18 mm A3 rebar falling by around 1,000 tomans to approximately 118,180 tomans per kilogram. Nishabur 16 mm A3 has also declined to around 105,450 tomans, while Ghaem Razi 12 mm rebar remains near 107,820 tomans per kilogram. تجارت نیوز

The shift suggests that currency pressure, inflation expectations and replacement costs can no longer push prices upward at the same pace without stronger real demand. Limited purchasing power is beginning to influence the finished-steel market more clearly. تجارت نیوز

Iran Mercantile Exchange data provide another important signal. On October 7, approximately 52,363 tonnes of rebar were offered and 51,343 tonnes were sold, representing an absorption rate of about 98%. The weighted average closing price stood at approximately 100,653 tomans per kilogram. ea-investment.ir

Just a few days earlier, the weighted average rebar price had reached 104,580 tomans per kilogram, after rising 20.9% week on week. The subsequent decline suggests that the market is beginning to consolidate after an unusually rapid rally. ea-investment.ir

Steel billet prices remain the key support

Upstream costs, however, remain elevated. Around 59,800 tonnes of steel billet were offered in the October 5 session, with approximately 99.8% of supply sold. The weighted average steel billet price in Iran reached about 87,477 tomans per kilogram, up roughly 9.6% from the previous week. ea-investment.ir

High billet prices continue to create a cost floor for rolling mills. Even if downstream demand weakens, mills have limited room to make aggressive reductions in finished rebar prices while raw-material costs remain elevated.

Today, the Iran Mercantile Exchange industrial and mining hall is offering approximately 79,950 tonnes of steel products, making exchange demand another key indicator for the next direction of the market. تجارت نیوز

The structural steel market is also showing mixed conditions. Most beam products are stable or softer, although Esfahan Steel’s 16 beam increased to approximately 122,730 tomans per kilogram. تجارت نیوز

The Iranian iron and steel market is therefore caught between weakening downstream demand and high upstream production costs. This combination could lead to consolidation rather than either a sharp new rally or a major price collapse.

If bidding pressure on billet and rebar declines in upcoming Iran Mercantile Exchange sessions, further limited corrections may follow. But as long as billet costs stay high, a deep decline in Iran rebar prices remains less likely.

Overall, the market appears to be digesting the sharp gains recorded earlier in October. Iran rebar prices, steel billet prices, exchange activity and currency movements remain the most important indicators for buyers and traders.
